So I'm back,
After 8 days and three competitions. I left at Saturday, My manager
had done some thinking about the transportation because he had about
16 people travelling around with their poles, some driving back home
after every competition and some travelling from one competition to
the next. It turned out that I would have a car and other people would
hop on and off long the way. So I started out with Anke, a 400m runner,
we had to drive for about 5 hours to Ingolstadt. I knew her just from
saying hello and goodbye, so I was very glad she turned out to be
very pleasant company. At arriving in Ingolstadt it turned out Stella
( a dutch 800m runner) had organized to share the room with me. Since
I live in Germany for already one and a half years now, I was very
happy to talk dutch again. Actually more listen dutch, because Stella
always has a lot off very interesting stories to tell. On Sunday the
competition was on, the weather was ok, nice and warm with just a
little disturbing wind which turned around between straight ahead,
left and a back wind. I got very nervous, much more as usually, probably
because I didn't want to end up with a zero again. But this time I
actually managed to get just enough control over my runup to make
it to 4.20m. the runups were still very different and I'll have to
find the best one and repeat that one over and over again. So that
will be my main concern over the next competitions. Here you can find
the results off the competition, Monika succeeded in jumping a national
record for Poland. Although before the competition she said she would
be happy if she would get 4.20m. The boys from my group also jumped
and Lars won with a very good 5.75.
